Settling St. Malo World Premiere at New Orleans Film Festival
October 25 @ 3:15 pm - 4:00 pm
Settling St. Malo will have its world premiere at the 2026 New Orleans Film Festival this October, during Filipino American History Month.
The short lyrical documentary follows poet Randy Gonzales as he uncovers his family’s hidden history and the broader story of Filipino settlement in Louisiana. Adapted from Gonzales’s poetry collection of the same name, the film blends poetry, archival footage, narration, and dreamlike reenactments to explore Filipino histories in New Orleans, Manila Village, and St. Malo.
Ticket information will be announced soon.
